I recently watched: “College Behind Bars”. A show on Netflix created by Ken Burns. The show is about a select group of people in prison getting their associate's degree and bachelor’s degree while still incarcerated and carrying out their sentence. These individuals are accepted into New York State’s Bard liberal arts college. The program is called B.P.I. or Bard Prison Initiative. In this program prisoners can graduate with an associate's degree and then choose if they would continue to receive a bachelors while in prison. Although most education programs were disbanded in 1994 due to the passing of the Clinton Crime Bill. colleges now can privately fund education in prison which is what colleges such as Adams State University are currently doing. Graffiti Artists in Cheyenne Wyoming.  In Cheyenne Wyoming, artists gathered to fill the empty wall space that frequents our downtown area. I saw some beautiful art. I got there early and was able to photograph some of the painters just beginning the process. Each piece a resemblance to the other. Sometimes spaces in between need livelihood. Piece it back together, but it is never the same. It is much better. The lines showing the progress. Each line a path to where you want to go. A forest of trees meant just for you. If something is broken can it still be beautiful? I think so.

Space, Like the lines in between. The left side has completely gone.   All that is left are object with no boundary. Our eyes the key to life. Are the lines real if there is no space between time? I feel for something solid, but everything comes together, Everything is nothing. It is all a lie A perception And we are just lost in the boundaries of space.

My Prompt for the day was : 1. Sunshine 2. Garden 3. On Your Feet For my first project, I had to find sunshine so I found some wonderful flowers that were so bright they looked like the sun.  Then yes, I took a picture of the actual sun. This was not fun because well you know you can go blind. I pointed my camera directly into the sun and the result was pretty good. It seemed very J.J. His garden has gone to waste but he moved it to our porch for easier access since my dad is a senior and can't get around as well. The Arts in Wyoming: My personal experience as a local artist. Art Print by Adam Jones       When people think of Wyoming, they think of a farm with cowboys in their boots, getting dirty and lifting hay, but there is another side to our state another side that gets just as dirty but instead of the dirt it's paint, sweat, and hard work put into a local project. In our great state, we promote the arts and performances around the area. Each state has its own form of art. Colorado has its own bands and its own names. Here in Wyoming, we have a small community of artists and performers that all contribute to this wonderful state we call home.  What makes Wyoming so different?      In Wyoming, everyone is a neighbor and that is the same with arts. We are doing a program called Addicts to Artists, where they encourage recovering addicts to partake in art in order to help them find an identity in recovery from drugs and alcohol. I had never heard of Book Art but I am so glad I found out about it. I thought at first it is blasphemy to draw in books! But I see it as taking art and making it into a different kind of art.  Curious Yellow This is an example of how to use book art. Coming Home, Wyoming. Disclaimer: I am not against traveling or moving around in fact I encourage everyone to travel and experience the world. I am just talking about my experience moving back to my hometown and what I found out about myself and Wyoming. Nor am I speaking badly on any other states I love everywhere I lived.. I first moved to Tallahassee Florida then Orange County California, I then went to Utah, Chicago, then closer to Wyoming I ended up in Colorado. I landed at Denver International Airport feeling like I was home. I always wanted to live in Colorado and Chicago seemed far from home then I would have liked. I first lived in Aurora. Covid-19 and Recovery by Annie Shay With the Corona Virus relapses are at an all-time high, People are turning back to drinking and drugs in hopes of dulling the pain from social distancing. For recovering addicts, the one strong component is socialization. It is essential that addicts be around their community in order to stay sober and continue to do well.     You look online and see others drinking alcohol for YouTube views, and even your aunt is drinking a bottle of wine while speaking over Skype. It can be hard to stay sober even if you are social distancing because you have no one to hold you accountable. It is difficult seeing others drink, even though we are quarantined we feel the pain of missing out. Bars have closed but liquor stores are still open, and we need to be careful where we put our time and money. It is so important to stay connected so you can prevent relapse.   But do not fret there are resources out there in the Wyoming Community and beyond. Online N.A. mee
