The Arts in Wyoming: My personal experience as a local artist. Art Print by Adam Jones       When people think of Wyoming, they think of a farm with cowboys in their boots, getting dirty and lifting hay, but there is another side to our state another side that gets just as dirty but instead of the dirt it's paint, sweat, and hard work put into a local project. In our great state, we promote the arts and performances around the area. Each state has its own form of art. Colorado has its own bands and its own names. Here in Wyoming, we have a small community of artists and performers that all contribute to this wonderful state we call home.  What makes Wyoming so different?      In Wyoming, everyone is a neighbor and that is the same with arts. Actual publication date: 02/06/2016  I walk into the Utah University Art Department. We are doing a program called Addicts to Artists, where they encourage recovering addicts to partake in art in order to help them find an identity in recovery from drugs and alcohol. I had never heard of Book Art but I am so glad I found out about it. I thought at first it is blasphemy to draw in books! But I see it as taking art and making it into a different kind of art.  Curious Yellow This is an example of how to use book art. You can paint, draw, use marker, and just make your own design inside an old book.  During my time in Chicago, I very much enjoyed doing book art. I am not the best artist in the world but just coming up with something unique is always the best. Coming Home, Wyoming. Disclaimer: I am not against traveling or moving around in fact I encourage everyone to travel and experience the world. Covid-19 and Recovery by Annie Shay With the Corona Virus relapses are at an all-time high, People are turning back to drinking and drugs in hopes of dulling the pain from social distancing. For recovering addicts, the one strong component is socialization. It is essential that addicts be around their community in order to stay sober and continue to do well.     You look online and see others drinking alcohol for YouTube views, and even your aunt is drinking a bottle of wine while speaking over Skype. It can be hard to stay sober even if you are social distancing because you have no one to hold you accountable. It is difficult seeing others drink, even though we are quarantined we feel the pain of missing out. Bars have closed but liquor stores are still open, and we need to be careful where we put our time and money.
